We made it safely to beautiful Ireland! 🙂  Our travel here was pretty easy.  Flight from Charlotte to Boston was simple and without lines, delays, or any other possible issues.  The flight from Boston to Shannon, Ireland was a bit bumpy, but otherwise fine.  We landed ahead of schedule and arrived at 5:45AM.   It’s nice to arrive early, but this meant we only had about 5 hours of time to attempt to sleep, which unfortunately didn’t happen, but the good news is we survived!  And, here we are in our hotel room at 10:30PM.  We’re exhausted, but so happy to be here.

Ireland is absolutely gorgeous!

We completely lucked out and had beautiful blue skies and no rain at the Cliffs of Moher, which was our first stop.  We ended up getting there so early that we had the whole place to ourselves for at least an hour.  Then we went into the visitor’s center and cafe, which open at 9:00AM and had some tea and breakfast.  {The carrot cake was amazing, not vegan, but none the less I highly recommend!}

The best part of having the Cliff’s of Moher to yourself in the morning is that you get shots like this:

For the rest of the day we explored some little towns and drives along the Wild Atlantic Way.  We ended up meeting my cousin Ashley, who is studying abroad and painting her heart out in Dingle, in Galway.  We are so glad that we did!  Even though it was pouring rain and pretty brisk, we got to experience such a charming city.  The markets and cobbled streets were lovely even in the rain and we ducked into St. Nicholas’ Collegiate church, where I fell in love with their cherry red door!  {I think the doors of Europe may be my favorite thing.}

From there we headed down to our bed & breakfast in Waterville, County Kerry.  Honestly, the views along this part of the Ring of Kerry are stunning and when we arrived at Currane Lodge, we were ready to move in.  We were greeted by a bunny leading the way into the drive and then a view of frolicking calves enjoying the Irish Mist.  Cozy, clean, comfortable, and again… charming. <3

Why did my family leave this magical place?
